Extra stop on spring planting tour documents tornado devastation
Agriculture Online Markets Editor Mike McGinnis filed an extra slide-show story on his tour – this one from Caruthersville in the Missouri Bootheel, where an F-3 tornado had ripped through the area 10 days before, killing two people. His photos say it all – the crumpled heap that was a $4 million grain bin set-up; irrigation pipes wrapped around trees; a flattened cotton gin – see for yourself. Slide show and story.
Mike's four planting tour photo-stories are linked from here.

And a "Best of Web" award went to ...
You guessed it – StopSoybeanRust.com. As reported recently in Agriculture Online, there were a few chuckles from the New York City crowd at the Waldorf when an award for a site on soybean rust was announced. Not surprising, when other winners were from publications like Newsweek, People, Sporting News – you get the picture. Officially, Agriculture Online won the business-to-business "Integration with Print" category of Media Industry Newsletter's ("min") Best of the Web Awards for its work with StopSoybeanRust.com, which is a joint venture between Agriculture Online and Vance Publishing Corporation.

A big thank you to our readers, contributors and supporters – you're the Best.
