Both Alabama and South Carolina report new rust counties today

+ Barnwell County, SC, is second rust find in state; more severe infestation than Hampton County

9/2/2005 4 p.m. CDT - South Carolina has confirmed soybean rust in a sample taken August 31 from a field planted for potential use in insecticide trials at Clemson University's Edisto Research and Education Center in Barnwell County.
Severity was higher there than in Hampton County, the first rust find in the state.
ALERT: Second S.C. county, Barnwell, found to have Asian soybean rust

+ Chilton County is latest AL rust location; 13 counties infected now

9/2/2005 - The Alabama soybean sentinel plot in Chilton County has been confirmed positive for Asian soybean rust, after one leaf in the central Alabama location was found to have a lesion yesterday.
