Pioneer plans hybrids and varieties with alternative resistance trait

Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. plans to introduce hybrids and varieties stacked with an alternative trait for resistance to both glyphosate and sulfonylurea herbicides by around 2009, giving more options to farmers concerned about increasing weed resistance.
Pioneer has new glyphosate-resistant technology on the way

Could be a good time to store corn rather than sell it this fall

Stockpiling grain rather than selling appears to be the growing trend for grain producers looking to get the best deal from their corn crop. Soybean producers should be watching prices carefully, too, says Matt Roberts, ag economist at Ohio State.
Ohio State says store now, sell later for best grain profits

No rebound soon for cash corn prices, but perhaps by early, mid next year

In his weekly market outlook, Darrel Good says that while near-term prospects do not point to a significant rebound in corn prices, history suggests that cash prices will recover by the spring/summer of 2006, at least for a brief period.
Cash corn prices likely to recover by spring/summer 2006, says Good

    RUST RESOURCES

+ Registration CLOSED for National Soybean Rust Symposium
Because of such an overwhelming response, registration has been closed for the National Soybean Rust Symposium in Nashville Nov. 15-16. No registration is available on site, either, according to the symposium coordinator. The proceedings of the symposium will be available soon afterward at www.plantmanagementnetwork.org/infocenter/topic/soybeanrust.

"We received so many registrations that we nearly exceeded the capacity of the meeting facilities offered at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville," said Gary Bergstrom, coordinator of the symposium. "We regret any inconvenience to those who wished to attend the Symposium, but now cannot."
